Martin Parr Wants ‘Colour’ Photographs in the Roy Stryker Photo Collection

I contacted Martin Parr about the Roy Stryker photo project, and wrote that we would be honored to have him participate as a contributor.

Martin Parr is a wonderful British documentary photographer and photojournalist who shoots sometimes in the states, including a book titled, Up and Down Peachtree: Photos of Atlanta.  Here are all his books.

He replied, “But there is no colour.”

So, alas, I was inspired on my last photo shoot to make some colour photographs, too.  And it’s not like we have been trying to make an all black and white collection, I believe it’s just that many of us film photographer develop our own film and tend to self-process black and white instead of color.

In any case, we need more color photographs.  So, when you can, shoot some Kodak Portra or other color film of your choice.  Then maybe we’ll inspire Martin Parr to become one of our photographers.
